Although Flavio Cobolli opened the match better, getting the first break to take a 2-1 lead, the Frenchman immediately took matters into his own hands. Tiafoe Survives Drama, Then Outclasses Nakashima
In the all-American clash, Frances Tiafoe defeated Brandon Nakashima 2-0 (7-5, 6-3). The first set was completely unpredictable and could have gone either way. There were numerous break point opportunities on both sides, and Nakashima even missed three set points. After a massive battle, Tiafoe managed to turn the tide in his favor and snatch the set. This loss clearly shook Nakashima, allowing Tiafoe to easily wrap up the job in the second set, securing a double break advantage to safely advance to the final.
