ATP Japan Open 2026: Alcaraz Completes Comeback, Flawless Lehecka Sets Up Title Clash

The semifinal matches at the ATP Japan Open in Tokyo have concluded. Following a fierce battle in the Spanish derby and a dominant performance in the second match, the finalists for this year’s tournament are officially set.

Alcaraz Survives a Tough Test Against Munar

Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the final after a highly demanding match, coming back to defeat his compatriot Jaume Munar 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.

The first two sets delivered an immense battle. Alcaraz was the first to gain an advantage by breaking serve in the seventh game of the opening set, but Munar refused to back down. He broke back in the tenth game, held his serve to take a 6-5 lead, and then broke Alcaraz again as he served to stay in the set, claiming the opener 7-5.

The second set started with a break-point frenzy, featuring three breaks in the first three games. Alcaraz broke first, Munar immediately responded, but Alcaraz took control with yet another break. He secured one more break before the end of the set to win it 6-3 and level the match.

In the deciding third set, Munar’s game completely fell apart. Alcaraz easily dominated the court, dropping only one game to seal a 6-1 victory and secure his spot in the title match. The Spaniard finished the match with 61% of service points won and six converted break points.

Lehecka Flawless Against Vacherot

In the second semifinal, Czech tennis player Jiri Lehecka defeated Valentin Vacherot much easier than expected, winning 6-4, 6-2.

Lehecka played a fantastic match, not allowing his opponent a single break point. He absolutely dominated his service games, winning an unreal 92% of his first-serve points (22/24) and maintaining a 100% success rate in service games won (9/9). With this convincing victory, the Czech proved he is in peak form heading into the grand final.

Final Schedule
