After an exciting Wednesday, the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open continues in full swing. Thursday, July 16, is reserved for the remaining Round of 16 (R16) singles matches, as well as the first quarterfinal clashes in doubles. A total of 6 matches await us, with full focus on the top three seeded players taking the Center Court.
Center Court: Spectacle with the Top Three Seeds
All tennis fans will enjoy a top-tier program on the main stadium, featuring the top three title favorites:
- Opening with Ann Li: The program starting at 17:30 is opened by Alina Korneeva and the second seed, American Ann Li.
- Evening slot for Krejcikova: From 19:30 under the lights, the third seed, experienced Czech Barbora Krejcikova, takes the court against Frenchwoman Carole Monnet.
- Top seed closes the day: In the final match of the day, the main favorite and tournament’s top seed, Clara Tauson, will play against Italian Miriana Tona for a spot in the quarterfinals.
