Carlos Alcaraz was dominant against Casper Ruud, taking the first set to love and closing out the match in a tiebreak. The two-time Indian Wells champion looks unstoppable heading into the quarterfinals.
Sinner Survives Fonseca — Sinner def. Fonseca 7-6, 7-6
The generational clash delivered. João Fonseca pushed world number one Jannik Sinner to two tiebreaks in an outstanding performance. The 19-year-old Brazilian leaves Indian Wells with his head held high — this will not be the last time we hear from him at this level.
Zverev Through — Zverev def. Tiafoe 6-3, 6-4
Alexander Zverev was comfortable against Frances Tiafoe, winning in straight sets to book his place in the quarterfinals. The German looks sharp and is quietly building momentum.
Auger-Aliassime Through — Auger-Aliassime def. Fils 6-3, 7-6
Felix Auger-Aliassime edged past Arthur Fils in two sets, the second going to a tiebreak. The Canadian continues his solid tournament run.
Tien Continues Dream Run — Tien def. Davidovich Fokina 4-6, 6-1, 7-6
Learner Tien came from a set down to eliminate Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in three sets. The young American is one of the stories of the tournament — already eliminating Shelton and now Davidovich Fokina to reach the quarterfinals.
Medvedev Dominant — Medvedev def. Michelsen 6-2, 6-4
Daniil Medvedev was clinical against Alex Michelsen, winning comfortably in straight sets. The Russian is hitting his stride at exactly the right moment.
Norrie Through — Norrie def. Hijikata 6-4, 6-2
Cameron Norrie ended Rinky Hijikata’s remarkable tournament run, winning in straight sets. The Australian qualifier had been one of the stories of the week but Norrie proved too solid on the day.
Draper Stuns Đoković — Draper def. Đoković 4-6, 6-4, 7-6
Jack Draper produced a stunning performance to eliminate five-time champion Novak Đoković in three sets. Đoković took the first set but Draper fought back superbly, levelling in the second before holding his nerve in a tense tiebreak to advance. The defending champion is through to the quarterfinals and is firmly in title contention.
