Felix Auger-Aliassime Overpowers Tallon Griekspoor to Reach Rotterdam Semi-Finals

Second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime delivered a composed and authoritative performance to defeat home favorite Tallon Griekspoor 7–6(2), 6–2, securing his place in the semi-finals of the Rotterdam ATP 500.

Despite strong crowd support inside a lively AHOY Arena, Griekspoor was unable to consistently trouble the Canadian, who controlled the match in key moments.

First Set: Felix Dominates the Tie-Break

The opening set began with immediate pressure from Griekspoor. Serving first, Auger-Aliassime faced an early break point, but the Dutchman was unable to convert — a missed opportunity that would prove costly.

From that moment on, both players held serve comfortably. Felix earned the first break and set point at 5–4, but Griekspoor managed to survive, forcing a tie-break.

In the tie-break, the difference in quality was clear. Auger-Aliassime raised his level significantly, dictating play with his forehand and serving efficiently to claim the breaker 7–2 and take the opening set.

Second Set: Constant Pressure from the Canadian

Auger-Aliassime wasted no time in the second set. He broke serve immediately, converting his first break point, and consolidated the advantage to move ahead 2–0.

The pressure never stopped. In nearly every service game from Griekspoor, Felix created at least one break opportunity. Although he missed two chances in the following return game, the Canadian continued to apply relentless pressure.

The decisive moment came in the seventh game, when Auger-Aliassime earned his second break of the set to extend the lead to 5–2.

Felix Seals a Convincing Win

Serving for the match, Auger-Aliassime remained composed and closed it out routinely, completing a 7–6(2), 6–2 victory.

The statistics reflected his superiority across the board. Felix struck 26 winners compared to just 12 from Griekspoor and committed fewer unforced errors (18 to 25).

Although the home crowd pushed Griekspoor throughout the match, the Dutchman was unable to match the consistency and firepower of the second seed.

With this win, Auger-Aliassime advances to the semi-finals, where he will face the winner of the quarterfinal clash between Alexander Bublik and Jaume Munar.
