Jaume Munar continued his impressive form at the Rotterdam ATP 500, producing another high-level performance to defeat Karen Khachanov in three sets and advance to the third round on Centre Court.

First Set: Munar Prevails in Tight Tie-Break

Both players began the match serving at an exceptional level, leaving no room for break opportunities throughout the opening set. Neither Khachanov nor Munar faced a single break point, as service games were held with authority.

The set was ultimately decided in a tense tie-break. Khachanov earned the first set point at 6–5, but Munar responded with strong serving to stay alive. The Spaniard then created two set points of his own but failed to convert.

On his third opportunity, Munar finally broke through, edging the tie-break 10–8 to claim the opening set after a gripping exchange of momentum.

Second Set: Khachanov Strikes Back

Khachanov responded decisively in the second set, raising his level and applying pressure on return. He converted his first break point of the match to move ahead and consolidated the break to take a 5–2 lead.

Although Munar held serve once more, Khachanov served out the set comfortably, leveling the match with a 6–3 win and shifting the momentum back in his favor.

Deciding Set: Munar Delivers Under Pressure

The third set saw Munar once again step forward aggressively. At 2–1, the Spaniard earned three consecutive break points but was unable to convert.

Undeterred, Munar continued to apply pressure. At 4–3, he attacked Khachanov’s serve again and this time capitalized on his second break opportunity in the eighth game.

Serving for the match, Munar showed no hesitation, closing out the contest with confidence to seal a memorable victory.

The statistics highlighted the quality of the match. A total of 72 winners were struck — 38 by Munar and 34 by Khachanov. However, the difference came in unforced errors, with Khachanov committing 39 compared to just 21 from Munar.

Munar also edged the total points won, 97 to 94, underlining how fine the margins were in an excellent contest.
