Stefanos Tsitsipas delivered a composed and efficient performance to defeat Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets, securing his place in the second round of the Rotterdam ATP 500 on Centre Court.

First Set: One Moment Makes the Difference

The match opened with both players holding serve confidently, neither allowing the opponent a single break opportunity in the early stages. Service games were controlled and efficient as the score moved evenly toward the latter part of the set.

At 4–4, Tsitsipas created the first moment of pressure, earning a break point, but was unable to convert. The decisive moment came later, at 6–5, when Rinderknech served to stay in the set.

Tsitsipas stepped up, earned another break point, and finished the point with a forehand down the line that appeared to be heading long — until it clipped the line by the narrowest margin. The shot sealed the break and handed Tsitsipas the opening set 7–5.

The Greek was clearly superior on return throughout the set, particularly against both the first and second serve of Rinderknech, which proved decisive.

Tsitsipas began the second set aggressively, immediately targeting his opponent’s service games. After creating multiple chances, he finally broke through in the fourth game, converting his fourth break point.

He consolidated the break with a confident service hold to move ahead 4–1, firmly in control of the match. From that point on, Tsitsipas served with authority and gave Rinderknech no realistic chance to get back into the contest.

Efficiency Decides the Contest

Two breaks — one in each set — proved more than enough for Tsitsipas to close out the match in straight sets.

The statistics reflected his control throughout the encounter. Rinderknech committed 22 unforced errors, compared to just 14 from Tsitsipas, a difference that ultimately tilted the match decisively in the Greek’s favor.

Tsitsipas advanced comfortably, maintaining momentum as he moves deeper into the Rotterdam draw.
