What to Expect on the Court?
Navone vs. Halys: The quarterfinal day opens with a clash between two players who defined yesterday’s action. Argentine Mariano Navone, who showed absolute dominance on clay against Struff, will cross rackets with Quentin Halys. The Frenchman enters this match full of confidence after pulling off the biggest upset of the tournament by eliminating the favored Vacherot. We are in for a great clash of styles – Navone’s patience on clay versus Halys’s lethal serve.
Hanfmann Tested by Baez: Immediately after them, Yannick Hanfmann and Sebastian Baez will take the court. The Argentine is coming off a grueling two-and-a-half-hour marathon, so it will be interesting to see how much energy he has left for the duel against the German, who plays very consistently and is well known to the local crowd.
Etcheverry the Absolute Favorite: The third match brings a duel between Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Ignacio Buse. The Argentine justified his seeded status in the previous round with steady baseline play, while Buse showed great character by staging a comeback after dropping the first set. However, Etcheverry’s extensive experience on clay puts him in the position of a heavy favorite.
Bublik Defending the Title: The program concludes with defending champion Alexander Bublik taking on Slovak Alex Molcan. Bublik relies heavily on his devastating serve to get out of tricky situations, while Molcan enters this duel after a tough three-set match and will need to find a way to counter the Kazakh’s powerful shots if he wants to cause a sensation.
