Miami Open 2026 begins tonight. One hundred and twenty-eight players, twelve days of play, one thousand ranking points. Who lifts the trophy on Sunday March 29? Here is our full analysis and prediction ahead of the tournament.

🏆 Our Champion Pick
Jannik Sinner 🏆 Seed (2) · World No.1 · Indian Wells Champion
There is no debate. Sinner arrives in Miami in the form of his life — Indian Wells champion, not a single set dropped at the previous tournament, victory over Medvedev in the final in two tiebreaks. Mentally he is at his peak, physically in perfect shape. Hard courts suit him perfectly and Miami is a tournament where he has always felt comfortable.
Sinner is our clear pick. He lifts the trophy on March 29.
🎾 Draw Analysis by Section
🔵 Alcaraz’s Section — The Biggest Threat Comes from the Top Half
Alcaraz is the number one seed and arrives with a point to prove after his semifinal loss to Medvedev at Indian Wells. His expected quarterfinal opponent is Fritz — a matchup that looks favourable for the Spaniard on paper. Alcaraz has an excellent historical record in Miami on hard courts and should not be underestimated. If Sinner does not make the final — Alcaraz is the most likely alternative champion.
🟢 Fritz’s Section — Home Favourite Under Pressure
Fritz disappointed at Indian Wells, losing in the round of 16. Miami is his chance for rehabilitation — playing on home soil, in front of a home crowd. His serve remains a weapon but the question is whether he can be consistent enough to reach the quarterfinal against Alcaraz.
🔴 Musetti’s Section — A Question Mark
Musetti lost in the second round at Indian Wells and arrives with a big question mark. The Italian is talented but inconsistent on hard courts. In his section Paul and Dimitrov could cause an upset if Musetti continues his inconsistent performances.
🟡 De Minaur’s Section — An Outsider With a Chance
De Minaur loves Miami — he has historically always performed well here. Despite his disappointing result at Indian Wells, he should not be written off. Bublik in the same section can be an uncomfortable opponent for anyone on a good day.
🟣 Shelton’s Section — Medvedev is the Favourite
Shelton disappointed at Indian Wells. Medvedev is in the same section and arrives as an Indian Wells finalist in excellent form. The Russian is the clear favourite to advance from this section — the only question is who faces him in the quarterfinal.
🟠 Zverev’s Section — Consistent but Not Quite Good Enough
Zverev reached the Indian Wells semifinals and arrives with confidence. In his section Davidovich Fokina could cause an upset, but Zverev should advance to the quarterfinal without major problems.
⚪ Auger-Aliassime’s Section — Tiafoe as the Outsider
Auger-Aliassime is in good form and arrives with the desire to go deep. Tiafoe in the same section is always dangerous in Miami — the American loves this arena and this crowd. This section could produce a surprise.
🔵 Sinner’s Section — Rublev is the Main Obstacle
Sinner is the clear favourite to advance from his section. Rublev is the 15th seed and a potential quarterfinal opponent — the Russian is unpredictable but Sinner has beaten him in the majority of their head-to-head meetings. Sinner’s path to the final looks relatively open.
📊 Our Round by Round Predictions

🃏 Dark Horse — Jack Draper
If there is one player capable of disrupting the expected narrative of this tournament — it is Jack Draper. The Briton eliminated Đoković in the round of 16 at Indian Wells in an incredible match before losing to Medvedev in the quarterfinal. The form is there, the confidence is at its peak. If Draper continues that level of play — he can go deep in Miami.
🔮 Conclusion
Sinner is the number one favourite. Alcaraz is the main threat. Medvedev arrives with Indian Wells finalist form. Zverev is consistent. Draper is an outsider with a realistic chance.
