Doha got up to speed from Monday, and the first two days already delivered several results shaping the second week of the draw.

Monday: Sinner’s statement start, Medvedev back on track

Jannik Sinner opened his campaign with a solid 6-1, 6-4 win over Tomas Machac, and ATP noted he dropped just six points on serve in the match.
ATP framed it as an important “reset” moment for Sinner, who arrived in Doha two weeks after a five-set Australian Open semi-final loss.
Daniil Medvedev also steadied himself with a clinical 6-4, 6-2 win over Shang Juncheng, and ATP reminded that Medvedev is one of the former champions in the field (alongside Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov).
Elsewhere on Monday, Jakub Mensik rallied past Jan Choinski 6-7(6), 6-2, 6-4 and Arthur Fils fought back to beat Kamil Majchrzak 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4.

Tuesday: Alcaraz tested, Rublev and Khachanov advance, Tsitsipas sets Medvedev clash

Carlos Alcaraz had to dig deep in his opener, beating Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 7-6(5) after saving two set points on serve in the second set.
ATP highlighted that Alcaraz sealed his 150th tour-level hard-court win and extended his perfect start to the 2026 season to 8-0.
Defending champion Andrey Rublev moved through with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jesper de Jong and will face Fabian Marozsan, who dismissed Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-1.
Karen Khachanov survived a three-set test against lucky loser Shintaro Mochizuki 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, with ATP noting he could be a potential quarter-final opponent for Alcaraz later in the week.
Stefanos Tsitsipas began with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Moez Echargui to set up a second-round meeting with 2023 champion Medvedev.
Jiri Lehecka (d. Jenson Brooksby 6-3, 6-3), Zizou Bergs (d. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4) and Zhang Zhizhen (d. Roberto Carballes Baena 6-4, 6-4) also advanced.

Wednesday: Sinner confirms and reaches the QFs

On Wednesday, Sinner beat Alexei Popyrin 6-3, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals on his Doha debut.
ATP added that Sinner extended his streak to 50 straight wins against players outside the Top 50, and noted that Popyrin had earned his first tour-level win since the US Open by beating wild card Mubarak Shannan Zayid in round one

What to watch on Thursday

Thursday is quarter-final day in Doha, with four big match-ups on Centre Court.
At 13:00, Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Andrey Rublev, followed by Jiri Lehecka vs Arthur Fils at 14:30.
The evening session features Carlos Alcaraz vs Karen Khachanov at 17:30, before Jakub Mensik takes on Jannik Sinner at 19:00.
From here on, it’s straight knockout tennis — a win means a semi-final spot.
